Conservation, Town Forest, Williams Property

The Conservation Committee:  meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm
The Shapleigh Conservation Commission is dedicated to the protection of the Town of Shapleigh's rural character,
water resources, wildlife habitat, and sustainable forestry, while encouraging responsible use of our Town's parks, 
trails, and open spaces.  We advocate for land conservation efforts, provide public education, and promote community
responsibility for its preservation.

Williams Property Advisory Committee
The Williams Property, a 300 acres parcel (with entrance located off County Road) was gifted to the Town of Shapleigh in 2011 from Roger K. Williams.
The property hosts walking trails and open fields for all to enjoy.  Great for a family hike in the woods on well-maintained trails or perhaps a picnic and kite flying in the field.  Dogs are welcome on leash and must be picked up after.

Town Forest Trustees:
The Town Forest Trustees are elected for three-year terms at the annual town meeting.  Any vacancies will be filled by appointment from the Board of Selectman for the remainder of the elected term.  The trustees oversee the care and maintenance of the Town Forest which  also includes the Town Beach. The Town Beach is accessible to all Shapleigh Taxpayers and requires a parking sticker which can be obtained at the Town Clerk/Tax Collector's Office of the Town Hall.
