Dear Parents,
Welcome back and we hope you
had a great vacation. We have so many
things going on from now until the end
of the year, we want to keep you up to
date. Please be sure to watch the Peek
for calendar events and stay informed.
This week we have Family Fun Night
which was a great fundraiser for us last
year. We hope to have the same success
this year so plan on being with us on
Friday night! There will be lots to do and
plenty of friends and family to do the
activities with. Come one, come all and
join the fun! (See enclosed notice)
Also, next week is the last PTC
meeting for the year. We will be electing
new officers for PTC among other
things, so we hope that you will be able
to attend. We are changing the time from
afternoon to evening to accommodate
more people. THE MEETING WILL
BE WEDNESDAY, MAY 5
PM. Please note the change on your
calendar and plan to attend.
Many parents attended our initial
program to cover the Re-inventing
Schools Coalition (better known as
RISC) earlier this year. We are now at
the point of power voting on the lists that
were made on the characteristics of a
successful 21
see the "chart" in the cafeteria, and have
not voted on line (see attached) for this
already, make sure when you come to
school you take the time to vote. You get
five votes. You may vote for the same
characteristic more than once. As we
collect these votes across the district and
with all stakeholders, the shared vision
and leadership committees for the
district will formulate a vision statement.
Thank you in advance for participating.
Also, if you signed up for RISC training
as a parent at the time of the meeting,
you should contact Lori Lodge at Central
to make sure you get on the list for June.
The dates are June 22, 23, and 24. Lori
can be reached at 247-3221. She is the
curriculum coordinator for our district.
We hope you are able to make the
training as we build momentum for this
change.
The Boy Scouts did a great job of
cleaning up the playground over the
vacation. We are so grateful. Please note
that there is no smoking on school
grounds. The staff has been notified
more than once, but we also have
weekend visitors who may not be aware.
The children noted a high amount of
cigarette butts on the grounds. If you are
here for an event and do smoke, please
be sure you do not leave butts on the
ground. Also, please do not bring your
dogs to the playground as they leave
